When researching foams for your project, you will see that they are often described in terms of their density. What does this mean? And do you need a high-density foam for your project?
The density of a foam is not about how firm the foam is but how strong it is. The density of a foam affects how it feels and how the foam will perform when it’s used. A denser foam is supportive, which is why memory and reflex foams are dense foams. Foam density is measured in pounds per cubic foot, which is literally how much a cubic foot of the foam weighs. This is expressed in numbers such as 1.5PCF and 3.5PCF etc, with high numbers indicating a denser foam. You can find out more here: https://www.fchancoxfoam.co.uk/high-density-foam/
F.C. Hancox stocks a wide range of foams and our staff are happy to explain the density of these foams, how they perform in various applications, and which would be the most suitable for your project. Once you know the best foam to use, then you can order it through our foam cut to size service.
