Choosing the right Foam Mattress Topper.

A good night’s sleep is essential for health and a comfortable mattress is part and parcel of achieving this. If you are looking to add that extra bit of comfort to your mattress, then why not consider adding a foam mattress topper? Mattress toppers can be used to make a firm mattress softer, or a soft mattress firmer.

In addition to added comfort, a mattress topper will protect your mattress. When you sleep you perspire and shed skin this is absorbed into the mattress so a topper will form a barrier. A mattress may also, over time, suffer ‘sagging’.  Using a mattress topper will prevent this and prolong the life of your mattress. Mattress toppers are widely available, however F.C. Hancox can supply the foam for you to custom make your own or easily replace the foam in an existing topper.

There is no need to cut the foam, we do that for you. Simply measure the width, length and depth. When you are starting from scratch, decide on the depth you require. If you are replacing an existing mattress topper make a note of its dimension then remove and launder the cover, once dried the new foam can be inserted. If new, there are many types of commercial mattress covers available. Do source the cover before ordering your foam so we can cut the foam to the correct size.

Our recommendations for Foam Mattress Toppers.

Depending upon what your aim is, we would recommend either the Vasco50 (memory foam) for a comfortable mattress topper that moulds to your body shape or, for something firmer to sleep on, we recommend the Reflex foams. Memory foam is durable so less likely to sag and works with all sleep positions. It is also compatible with adjustable beds. Reflex foam costs less than memory foam. This foam offers firm support, benefitting those with back and neck pain.
